A loving and devoted mother
Theresa was born August 18, 1939 in Fifth Ward, Louisiana to Florence Barrie and Nelson Carmouche, with her brothers and sisters, Cleveland, Denis, Philip, and Eva.
Theresa loved running around with her soul sister, Earlne Lemoine, and her nieces, Ethel Suberville and Rosina Laborde. She loved going down to the levee with a cardboard box to sled with friends, and helping her mother in the garden. She enjoyed going to town with her dad as a kid to get a block of ice, often carried on her dad’s shoulders. Some of Theresa’s favorite memories are, being around her family laughing and having fun.
She later married her first husband, Jerry Rumple, and had Ricky, Cindy, Lynn, Louie. She then married her second husband, Roger Longino, and had Ashley.
Theresa worked several jobs as a house cleaner, as a waitress, and a nursing assistant; she always liked to do something. She was always cooking something for her family, and getting everyone together for the holidays. She enjoyed her down time by doing crosswords or puzzles or watching her favorite TV shows/movies (anything with Chuck Norris.)
Theresa had nothing but love in her heart and soul, she was truly a blessing to us all. She always put her family first, never lacked love, or compassion. She always had a listening ear for our troubles and held us when we needed it. Her warm embrace, wisdom, and presence will forever be missed, but always in our hearts.
“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and
let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
-Proverbs 31:31
