Mary Louise Yocom, age 86 of Cambridge, died April 25, 2025 in Princeton. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1pm – 3pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. Please join us for refreshments and lunch.
Mary Louise Yocom was born on February 14, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Arthur and Cora Wentworth. Eventually the family moved to the Harris/North Branch area where she attended school and graduated from North Branch High School.
Mary Louise worked for the Cambridge Regional Center/Cambridge State Hospital for 20 years until she retired in 1998. She then went to work for the Cambridge-Isanti High School as a lunchroom aide. Mary Louise very much enjoyed working with the students and staff. Most of the students knew her as Grandma Mary. Mary Louise’s favorite past time was playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She visited her mother daily to play cards until her passing in 2012. She then would play cards on Thursday’s at the Cambridge Senior Center. She also enjoyed going to any school event; Friday football games, wrestling meets, baseball games and always went to the Cambridge-Isanti High School Grand March until she couldn’t.
Mary Louise was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and a genuinely sweet lady to all she met. She will be greatly missed every day but loved even more every day. She loved her family unconditionally. I’m sure she is cheating on cards with her mother right now. Mary Louise became an angel on April 25, 2025. She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur; mother, Cora; and sister, Lilas Marrier.
Mary Louise is survived by her sisters, Lennarta Ramberg (William Hultstrom), Karen Arive; three children, Bradley Wentworth, Maria Johnson (Richard), and Amy Jellison (Mark); grandchildren, Brandon Harapat, Amber Kirkpatrick (Nate), Michael Jellison, Christina Jellison, Cody Evans (Lauren), and Nicholas Jellison (Brianna) as well as many great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
