Mary G. Spensley, 68 year old resident of Columbia Heights, MN passed away May 10, 2025 at the Woodbury Health Care Center in Woodbury, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Isanti Union Cemetery.
Mary G. Spensley (Gerken), 68 of Columbia Heights, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025.
Born on July 15, 1956, in Minneapolis to Tex and Myra Gerken, Mary graduated from Edison High School in 1974. Known for her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, she worked for many years as a beloved bartender at Stasiu’s, where she made many lasting friendships. Mary’s life was rooted in love and service to others. She found her greatest joy in raising her five daughters and cheering them on at countless school events and sports games. Whether at the lake soaking in the sun or behind the wheel driving her kids to activities, Mary gave her time and heart selflessly.
She is survived by her daughters: Autumn (Chad) Domstrand, Gretchen (Josh) Paulson, Heidi Spensley (Jeff Sieben), Sonja (Ross) Weber, and Courtney Spensley (Aaron Roth); and by her six cherished grandchildren: Rayden, Rebecca, Owen, Peyton, Samuel, and Reese.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tex and Myra; siblings, Joy Listrom, Bonny VanValkenburg, and Peter Gerken.
