Gordon Evgen, age 86, of Cambridge died June 12, 2025 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Isanti. A memorial gathering will be held from 10 AM – Noon Saturday, July 12th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. Burial will be in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
Gordon Richard Evgen was born January 8, 1939 in Forest Lake, Minnesota to Arnold and Hazel (Clark) Evgen. He grew up near Coon Lake. Gordon was father to six children, Richard, Cindy, Michael, Debra, Bonnie and Brian. He became partner’s with Beatrice “Bea” Riley in 1997 and they have made their home in Cambridge since 2010. Gordon loved fishing and in his younger years did some hunting as well. He enjoyed the outdoors and working in his yard. He will be dearly missed.
Gordon is survived by his partner, Bea; children, Richard (Rhonda) Evgen, Cindy Zaccardi, Michael (Kim) Evgen, Debra Evgen, Bonnie (Devon) Buege, and Brian (Molly) Evgen; Bea’s children, Jerry (Julie) Riley, Terri Foote and Scott Riley; by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Zaccardi.
My wife and I have been neighbors adjacent to their property for several years and both Gordy and Bea have been great neighbors. They’ve watched our dog “Tucker” on many occasions and Gordy always would give Tucker some treats and gentle rubs. I remember him coming over to my shop and just sitting down for a coffee or water and just “shooting the breeze”. It was a great pleasure to know him and he will definitely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bea and the rest of the family.
