Kathleen “Kathy” G. Rothstein, age 81, formerly of Cambridge passed away June 6, 2025 at Ecumen North Branch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 14th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Kathleen Gail Jaderston Rothstein (Kathy) was born February 24, 1944, in St. Paul, MN to George and Vivian (Early) Jaderston. Kathy was raised in Lauderdale, MN where she attended Roseville Alliance Church. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1962 and went on to receive a certificate in Key Punch from Globe School of Business.
Kathy married Gerald James Rothstein (Jerry) on April 13, 1968, in her childhood home in Lauderdale, MN. Jerry brought with him his son, Gerald Joseph Rothstein (Jay), whom Kathy loved as her own. Together they had three daughters: Lynn, Julie, and Deborah. They raised their family in Brooklyn Center, MN then moved to Circle Pines in 1994. Jerry passed away in 1998 and Kathy remained in Circle Pines until 2017 when she moved to Mill Ridge Terrace in Cambridge, MN. She has most recently resided and was cared for at Ecumen in North Branch.
Kathy was a devoted wife to Jerry and a loving mother and grandma. She was a homemaker and did in-home daycare for many years. Family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed annual family fishing trips to Rich’s Pakwash in Canada, playing games, holidays (especially Christmas), painting ceramics, canning, watching old movies and shows, water skiing, roller skating, fast-pitch softball, music, McDonald’s. She was quick-witted and comical; she loved to laugh. Although she had many struggles in life, and in death, she fought thru it all and never lost the laughter. She was strong-willed and resilient with a heart as big as gold.
Kathy passed away surrounded in love on June 6, 2025, at Ecumen North Branch at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Vivian, her husband Jerry, son Jay, grandson Ryan Felt, and sister Marjorie Krinke and brother-in-law Larry Krinke.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters; Lynn Kubacki, Julie (Kevin) Mahowald, and Deborah (Chris) Mahowald, Siblings; Carole Cady, George “Mokey” (Bev) Jaderston, and Steven (Jane) Jaderston, Grandchildren; Amanda Rothstein (Adam), Ricky (Jackie) Felt, Andy (Rachel) Rothstein, Tiffany Kubacki, Theresa Kubacki, and Dominic Playle, Great-grand kids; Suraya, Adryan, Tino, Jaxson, Mira, Aliyah, Bentley and Gabriel.
