
Marjorie “Marge” (Severson) Porter, age 85, of Isanti, MN and formerly of Braham, MN passed away November 8, 2025, at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge, MN. Memorial service 11:00 AM Saturday, November 29th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge, MN. A time for visiting with the family will be held from 9:30 AM until the service starts at 11 AM. Burial will be in Rice Lake Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to GracePointe Crossing (in memory of Marjorie Porter).
Marjorie Ann Porter was born September 17, 1940, in Braham, MN to Harvey and Elsie (Monson) Severson. She attended school in Braham where she was active in band and choir as well as class plays. She graduated from Braham High School in 1958 followed by studying at Gustavus Adolphus. Marge married Leslie Roesner in 1959 and they had three children. After their children were raised, they divorced. In 1984 Marge met Raymond Porter at the Chalet Supper Club in Braham. On July 12, 1985, they were married at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. They shared life together for over 40 years of marriage. From their first home on the Porter Farm in Braham, MN, their path took them to Gaylord, MI; Grafton, ND; Montevideo, MN; Wahpeton, ND and to Breckenridge, MN. where they spent many meaningful years. After retirement in 2018, they moved to Isanti, MN.
Marge’s faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ, was foundational to who she was. She enjoyed singing in choirs and being involved in Bible studies. A dedicated professional, she held various executive administrative roles—including bookkeeper, church administrator, and office manager—across diverse businesses and medical clinics. She retired from her final position at Faith Church. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, furniture refinishing, word searches, reading and traveling. Ray and Marge would spend countless hours listening to Rick Steves, exploring new places from their living room, and dreaming about the world together.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ray; children, Scott (Connie Nyquist) Roesner, Steve (Laurie) Roesner and Kimberly (Robert) Ziesmer; grandchildren, Lyndsey (Jeremy) Christoffer, Stephanie (Ashley) Reynolds, Matthew Roesner, Claire (Chase) Rozeboom, Amanda Gagne and Jonathan (Josie) Porter; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ron Severson, Dick (Winnie) Severson and Gary (Leslie) Severson; sister, Joanne (Dave) Edblad; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and mother-in-law, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Richard Porter; brother-in-law, Mark Porter; sister-in-law, Mary Severson; and nephew, Kirk Severson
