
LaVerne M. Klobucar, age 101, of Osseo, formerly of Cambridge, passed away January 25, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A memorial service will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 7th at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo with a visiting time one hour prior.
LaVerne M. Klobucar (Olson) was born on May 15, 1924 in Dalbo, Minnesota to Nels and Hilma Olson. She attended Dalbo Grade School and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1942. After attending the Minnesota School of Business, she returned to Cambridge and worked for Attorney Gillespie for several years. She moved to California where she worked for Northrop Aircraft. While in California she met her future husband, John Klobucar. They were married in 1953 at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo.
They returned to California and spent a year there before returning to Minnesota. They lived on the Iron Range for a few years where he worked as a land surveyor, building the town of Hoyt Lakes. Their two daughters were born in Virginia, Minnesota. He was transferred to Arizona for a year to work for the Copper Mines. They then returned to Minnesota and purchased their first home in Osseo, Minnesota.
LaVerne was a “stay at home” mom until she became involved with the “Meals on Wheels” program in Brooklyn Park. She later started the program in the Osseo – Maple Grove area where she served for several years. The program now also consists of Champlin, Rogers and Corcoran.
In 2008 they moved to the Cambridge area and rejoined Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo, where she had been baptized, confirmed and married.
She is survived by her two daughters, Colleen Klobucar and Kathy (Tim) Lijewski; granddaughters, Danielle (Mohammed) Aldawood, Nikki Andrews; great-grandsons, Cayden and Caleb; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother, Harry and sister, Viola.
