It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Hannelore “Honnie” F. LaDue, who was born on January 27, 1934, in Bayreuth, Germany, and passed away on December 20, 2025.
As a young girl, Honnie lived through the hardships of World War II, an experience that shaped her strength and resilience for the rest of her life. She pursued her passion for music and became a professional opera singer, performing in numerous productions at the renowned Richard Wagner Festspielhaus in her hometown.
While in Germany, Honnie met the love of her life at an officers club. Their love story led her across the ocean to the United States in November of 1960, where they were married and began building a life together. Determined to embrace her new country, Honnie taught herself English by watching soap operas and worked hard to learn American customs. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a United States citizen, a milestone she cherished deeply.
Honnie and her husband settled in Richfield, Minnesota, where they raised three daughters. After the passing of her husband in 1978, Honnie demonstrated incredible strength and devotion by raising her children on her own. She was a hardworking woman who held various jobs throughout her life, ultimately building a long and dedicated career with Dean Witter, where she remained until her retirement.
Hannelore “Honnie” F. LaDue was a woman full of life, light, and kindness who was strong, loving, and deeply devoted to her family. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active member of Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Richfield.
