Travis William Bakke, age 38, of Cambridge died unexpectedly at his home on May 15, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 19th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Westerberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 18th and also 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. There will also be a service at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, South Dakota at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, May 21st. Interment will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery in Butler, South Dakota.
Travis William Bakke was born October 5, 1968 in Watertown, South Dakota to Gregory and Marie Bakke. He was raised in Minneapolis and then in the Bethel area. Travis graduated from Coon Rapids High School, Class of 1987. He moved to the Isanti/Cambridge area in 1991 and was employed by Industries Incorporated. Travis enjoyed people and being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to camp, music, dancing and motorcycling.
Travis is survived by his mother, Marie Bakke of St. Francis; father, Gregory Bakke of Webster, South Dakota; brother, Trever of Minnesota; grandmothers, Pat Peterson of Bristol, South Dakota, Jean Bakke of Webster, South Dakota; niece, Madeline Bakke of Anoka; by his extended family, Jeff and Kathleen Sharbono of Cambridge and their children, Mackenzie, Justin (Rebecca), Joseph and Jacob Sharbono of Cambridge; Cheryl Ruis and Beth Peterson of Cambridge; and by many other relatives and friends.
