Betty Mattson, age 73, of Isanti passed away August 10, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 from 4 – 8 PM at our Isanti Chapel. The funeral will beat 2 PM on Wednesday, August 15th at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti. There will also be a visitaion 1 hour before the service on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Betty Irene Mattson was born September 18, 1933 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Martha and John Lowery, Sr. When she was 2 years old her family moved to Minneapolis where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Southwest High School. On June 20, 1953 she married Robert Mattson and they made their home in Isanti. Betty was a member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti where she was active in the GMG program. In past years she was also a member of the Isanti Women’s Club and was also active in 4-H. Betty was employed by Cargill in Minneapolis until her retirement. Betty especially enjoyed her family, the family activities, her animals, making wedding cakes and doing crafts and handwork. She became a resident of Grandview on February 15, 2005.
Betty passed away on August 10, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 22 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1975 and her brother, John (Jack) Lowery, Jr. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jacquie Mattson of Isanti and Kathleen Mattson of Isanti; 1 sister, Vivian (Arnold) Dietman of Fergus Falls; and by many other relatives and friends.
