Troy Dahlin, age 40, of Isanti passed away January 2, 2008 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 7th at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 6th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the funeral Monday at the church. Interment will be in Rush Point Baptist Cemetery.
Troy Allen Dahlin was born June 14, 1967 in St. Louis Park to James and Gloria Jean Dahlin. Troy was raised in Golden Valley and graduated from Armstrong High School, Class of 1985. On July 28, 1990 he married Barbara Olsen and they made their home in rural Isanti. Troy was employed as a bus driver for the Elk River school district. He loved his job and the children that he drove. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. He had several interests; including music and playing the guitar, grilling, bonfires in the back yard, camping as a family, traveling and taking his family different places and showing them a good time, fishing, 4 wheeling, entertaining and he especially loved the holidays and decorating for Christmas. Troy was very proud of his children and he emphasized that they learn common sense. He was always concerned about others rather than for himself.
Troy was preceded in death by his mother, G. Jean Dahlin, and her death was a difficult time for him. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his three children, Amanda, Ashley and Brian; father and step-mother, James (Karen) Dahlin of Isle; father and mother-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Olsen of Blaine; aunts, Shirley Brown and Robert Deurmier of Hilltop, Patti (Mike) Naughton of Cook, Janet (Rick) Forgette of Burnsville; uncle, David Rosenfeld of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and by many other loving relatives and friends.
Troy you are deeply missed..Your in our thoughts,I’m sure your Mom and Grandpa Rosy plus all our other relatives and friends to many to mention we’re there also to welcome you to heaven. You were a true friend, family man and mentor..love you.
