William “Bill” Charles Dehn, Sr., age 74, of the Bethel area passed away May 17, 2008 at Grandview Chirstian Home in Cambridge. A memorial service will be held at 6:oo P.M. on Tuesday, May 20th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A time for visiting will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the service Tuesday. A private burial will be held at a later date at Old Bethel Cemetery.
William Bill Charles Dehn was born August 14, 1933 in Anoka, Minnesota to Charles and Helen (Hasslinger). He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis. Bill joined the Army in 1951. On February 9, 1952 Bill married Anna Meinke and they started their family in Minneapolis. The later moved to Robbinsdale and then to the farm in Bethel in 1963. Here is where he raised his family. He worked for the railroad and then for St. Francis School District #15 where he retired from. Bill enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, playing cards, feeding the deer and he loved all animals. He especially loved music and playing the guitar and singing.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Bill of Isanti, and Bob (Terry) of Cambridge; two daughters, Diane (Steve) King of Isanti, and Tammy (Mike) Blackledge of Princeton; brother, Richard (Elaine) of Minneapolis; two sisters, Evelyn Vorderbruggen of Hugo, and Mildred Northway of Brooklyn Park; 15 grandchildren,
16 great-grandchildren, and by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife, Anna, and son, Ron.
