JoAnn Knapp of Isanti passed away July 25, 2008 at Grandview Chirstian Home in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 29th at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber with Pastor Kevin Zellers officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 28th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery.
JoAnn June Knapp, daughter of Harold and Marvel (Swanson) Senkel was born January 3, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in Minneapolis. JoAnn grew up in St. Louis Park and when she was 18 years old she met Kenneth Knapp in Pine City. She was united in marriage with Kenny on October 19, 1957 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park. To this union three children were born, Cheryl, Tim and Don. Kenny and JoAnn made their home in Fridley until 1972 when they moved to Isanti and started their cabinet shop business.
In JoAnn and Kenny’s younger years they enjoyed their place on Mille Lacs Lake with their children. As their children grew up JoAnn enjoyed being their 4-H leader, camping and going to High School Rodeo’s. JoAnn enjoyed her job at the Burger Top CafĂ©, and most recently her job at Isanti Elementary School as a lunchroom lady. She also enjoyed reading and watching the Twins and Vikings games. JoAnn was also an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Weber.
JoAnn Knapp passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Marvel Senkel; husband, Kenneth; grandson, Troy Christiansen; and brother-in-law, Hank Knapp.
JoAnn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl (Brad) Christiansen, Tim Knapp, and Don (Cheryl) Knapp, all of Isanti; 7 grandchildren, Kris (Erica), David (Calyn), Cara (Jason), Cati (Brian), Brandon (Elizabeth), Derrick, and Weston; 2 great-grandchildren, Logan and Braden; special nephew and niece, Jon of Braham and Justine of Mora; sister, MaryAnn Knapp-Kelling (Jim) of Braham; brother-in-laws, Howard (Elna) Knapp and Arnie Knapp of Blaine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
