Mark Hunter, age 56, of Blaine passed away August 19, 2008 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 23rd at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Chaplain Garrett Porten officiating. A time for visiting will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Old Bethel Cemetery.
Mark Herbert Hunter was born July 3, 1952 in Minneapolis. He was adopted by David and Elizabeth Bette Hunter. Mark was raised in East Bethel and Graduated from St. Francis High School, Class of 1970. On December 28, 1970 he joined the Army and served in Vietnam. He was discharged on September 28, 1973 and was in the reserves until December 27, 1976. After his military service he came back to East Bethel. Mark met Debbie Riley and their son, Mark was born in 1977. Mark was a member of the Alexandria VFW Post and he was a life member of the 11th Armored Calvary’s Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia. Mark lived most of his life in Anoka County in the East Bethel, Ham Lake and Blaine area.
Mark passed away at his home on August 19, 2008 at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 16 days. He was preceded in death by David Hunter, Norman Stevens, Lois Cornell, Nancy Hyde, Lyle Butch Stevens and Michael Hermanson.
Mark is survived by his son, Mark Riley of Blaine; mother, Elizabeth Bette Hunter of Staples; sisters, Amy Hunter of Staples, Nancy Jo Hunter of West Virginia, Patricia (Thomas) Shaw of Utah, Linda Weinhold of St. Paul, Debbie (LeRoy) Ford of Cambridge; brothers, Kevin Hunter of New Mexico and Jim (Darlene) Cornell of Braham; Stevens family siblings, Patricia, Norma, Lloyd, Jim, Colleen, Bonnie and Sandy; special friends, Debbie Riley and Ruth Swanson; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
