Darrell Haugen, age 71,of Isanti passed away on September 10, 2008 at his home. A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at South Isanti Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Venneman officiating. A time for visiting will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Darrell Lee Haugen was born April 29, 1937 in Norcross, Minnesota to Emil and Gladys Haugen. He was raised and lived his early years in Norcross. Darrell then served in the Army. After the service he lived in the Twin Cities area. On November 28, 1970 he married Gladys DeMaris. They made their home in Anoka, later Ham Lake and then in 1984 they moved to Isanti. He was employed for several years at Nabisco, Cream of Wheat. Darrell especially loved his children and grandchildren and the family activities. He enjoyed getting his yard ready for the children and making it their play park. He also enjoyed bird watching and the wild turkeys, hunting, fishing, watching the Twins and Vikings, his animals, puttering on his farm and collecting John Deere memorabilia.
Darrell passed away at his home on September 10, 2008 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 11 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Duane Haugen; 2 sisters, Jean Sherrett and Janet Haugen.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Gladys of Isanti; 4 children, Jody and Gary Nave of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Deb and Hank Schmid of Hubbard, Oregon, Dick and Candy DeMaris of Woodburn, Oregon, Chris and Christy DeMaris of Cambridge; 10 grandchildren, Angela and David Doms, Jim and Lisa Nave, Allison Schmid, Robbie, Matt and Jeannie DeMaris, Molly DeMaris, Abby DeMaris, Alex Aspen and Adam Houston; 5 great-grandchldren, Evan Doms, Kathryn and Michael Nave, Reagan and Skylar Rivard; and many other relatives and friends.

Stacy and I spent a lot of fun-filled summers at your home in East Bethel and have wonderful memories of you and Darrell. You both were like a second set of parents to us!
