Maurice Lodien, age 77, of Princeton passed away November 11, 1008 at The VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 15th at North Isanti Baptist Church in Cambridge with Pastor Jonathan Larson officiating. A time for visiting will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Maurice Wayne Lodien was born October 8, 1931 in Cambridge Township to Aleck and
Minnie Lodien. He was raised in the Cambridge/Isanti community and graduated from Cambridge High School. He then worked for the Forest Service in Idaho. Maurice then joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War from July 28, 1951 through July 27, 1955. On June 2, 1956 he married Lois Blaido. They made their home in Columbia Heights and in 1973 they moved to rural Princeton. Maurice was employed by Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis and was a communications specialist. He was a member of a VFW. He loved golfing and in his earlier years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and water skiing. Morrie was a handyman and could fix most anything.
Maurice passed away on November 11, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Cloud at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 3 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Charles, Vernon, Donley and Norman. Maurice was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; three children, Jeffrey (Tammy) Lodien of Princeton, Lori (Ken) Sanborn of Princeton, Steven (Jennie) Lodien of Brooklyn Park; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Orris (Delores) Lodien of Bakersfield, California, Roger (Alice) Lodien of Brooklyn Center; and by many other relatives and friends.
The interment service will follow at the church cemetery.
