Deloy Strombeck, age 75, of Isanti passed away March 25, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 28th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti with Father Jose as Celebrant. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, March 27th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. Interment will be in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
Deloy Waldon Strombeck was born May 15, 1933 in Milaca to Walter and Edith Strombeck. He was raised in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School. Deloy then entered the Army and served in the Korean War. After the service he returned to Milaca and then moved to Minneapolis to work. Deloy was employed by the D. W. Onan Company for several years. On July 27, 1957 he married Bonnie Reibestein at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon. They made their first home in the Crown Community. In 1959 they moved to a farm in rural Isanti. Besides farming, Deloy drove school bus for 20 years for the Cambridge/Isanti Schools. After retiring he worked part time for P & M Truss in Isanti. Bonnie and Deloy were also foster parents for several years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti and was also a member of the NFO. Besides being with his family he enjoyed going up north to the cabin, hunting, fishing and wintering in Florida for 10 years.
Deloy passed away at Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis on March 25, 2009 at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 10 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by infant twin sisters and his son Mark.
Deloy is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Isanti; four children, Mary (Kenneth) Eklund of Isanti, Dan (Dorinda) Strombeck of Isanti, Darla Strombeck of Inver Grove Heights, and Jeff (Dee) Strombeck of Stanchfield; one brother, Duane (Doris) Strombeck of Princeton; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends.

Every day that passes we miss you more and more. I love you Grandpa. I will truely miss getting to push you in your wheelchair at the VA =) I will never forget the times we shared together.
