William D. Carlson, age 61, of Cedar died March 28, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 3 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in East Bethel. A visitation will be heldfrom 10:00 A.M. untilservice time at the church.
William Dean Carlson was born October 30, 1947 in Aitkin to Carl and Lorraine Carlson. His family moved to Minneapolis where he was raised. William graduated from Marshall High School. On June 28, 1969 he married Sharon Specht in Aitkin. They made their first home in Wyoming, Minnesota. In 1988 they moved to Cedar. He was employed as a printer for Tension Envelope Incorporated, retiring after 38 years. William was a member of the MDA, Minnesota Deaf Anglers, and MDC, Minnesota Deaf Campers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching all sports.
William passed away on March 28, 2009 at mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl and an infant brother, Richard.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon of Cedar; four children, Todd (Heather) Carlson of St. Francis, Tammi (Todd) Sandifer of Tucson, Arizona, Tracy Carlson of Cedar, and Timothy Carlson of Cedar; Seven grandchildren, Tate, Tyus, Tristan, Thatcher, Julian, Hailey and Aydan; his mother, Lorraine Carlson of Aitkin; two brothers, Brad (Elaine) Carlson of Aitkin, and Brian (Julie) Carlson of Aitkin; four sisters, Sharon (Wally) Vine of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda (Mark) Mehrman of Plymouth, Janet (Steve) Anthes of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Lori (Keith) Bubalo of Brainerd; and by many other relatives and friends.
