Darrell Dietrich, age 81, of Anoka died September 27, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1st at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Strike Cemetery.
Darrell Dietrich was born February 10, 1928 in Alexandria to Herman and Leona Dietrich. He was raised and attended school in Minneapolis. Darrell served in the Army from 1946 1947 at the end of World War II. On October 12, 1952 he married Marie Quam. They made their home in Minneapolis and they then lived in Anoka for the past 30 years. Darrell was employed as a laborer in construction. He was a past member of the Anoka VFW Post. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and working on old cars. Darrell especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Darrell Dietrich passed away September 27, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 17 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Gerald; grandson, Joe; three brothers; one sister.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Marie of Anoka; six daughters, Sandra (Tom) Haskin of Fridley, Sue (Daryl) Heikes of Minneapolis, Becky (Tim) Kostreba of Andover, Judy Thompson of Minneapolis, Cindy Fickle of Mounds View, Wanda (Brian) Rasset of Monticello; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Dietrich of Ramsey; and by many other relatives and friends.
