Donna Mae Peterson, age 77, of North Branch and formerly of Cambridge and Minneapolis died September 13, 2009 at The Villages of North Branch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 17th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Billy Hirji-Walja officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00- 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16th also at our Cambridge Chapel. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Donna Mae Peterson was born October 10, 1931 in Fridley, Minnesota to Gladys Hand (Peters). She was raised in the NE Minneapolis area. Donna worked as a cook several places including Augsburg College, Central Nursing Home and Snyder’s Drug Store. She also owned the 301 Bar & Grill in North Minneapolis. Donna loved to take drives in the fall to look at the colorful trees and at Christmas time she would take her daughters on drives to look at the lights and store decorations. She also enjoyed cooking, playing poker and playing bingo.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Carole (Bill) Mulvihill of Monticello, Susan Corley (Kevin Solem) of Mora, and Judy (Scott) Kruse of Cambridge; two granddaughters, Tina (Scott) McGrath, Elizabeth Bolander; four grandsons, Raymond Browning, Michael Peterson, and Victor and Wyatt Kruse; three great-grandchildren, Andrea, Dominic and Destiny; and by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Stanley Kessel, by her mother, Gladys Hand and daughter, Patricia Peterson.
