Louann Krekelberg, age 56, of Isanti died September 17, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 22nd at First Baptist Church in St. Francis. A visitation will be held Monday, September 21st from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Louann Mae Krekelberg was born March 18, 1953 in St. Louis Park to Harold and Annette Brown. She was raised in Brooklyn Park and graduated from Anoka High School, Class of 1971. On November 23, 1974 she married James Krekelberg. They made their first home in Ramsey. In the early 1980’s Louanne came to know the Lord under the ministry of Pastor Lamb of the First Baptist Church in St. Francis and she was later baptized there. Louann was employed by Preferred One in St. Louis Park for 11 years. In 1995 they moved to Stanford Township in rural Isanti. Louann was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Francis. Besides the family activities she enjoyed going to the cabin with her parents and playing games there. She also enjoyed volleyball, bowling and sewing.
Louann passed away on September 17, 2009 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 29 days. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim; 2 daughters, Michelle Krekelberg and fiance’ Adam Murdock, Melissa (Jeff) Sauvageau; 1 grandson, William Jeffery Sauvageau; 2 sisters, Ruth (Neil) Guimont, Karen (Gene) Jones; 1 brother, Robin Brown; mother-in-law, Ann Krekelberg; and by many other relatives and friends.
I worked with Louann at Preferred One for years. She was so smart, sweet and always positive. She always dealt with whatever was given to her health wise with grace and courage. I miss her and she will always have a place in my heart. My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Jim and the rest of the family.

Sorry to hear about the loss of Louann Brown Krekelberg. Though I had not seen her in many years I still mourn the loss of my cousin. My prayers are with her entire family.

Louann babysat for our two oldest children several times as a teenager. She lived only two houses away from us then.
