Frieda Anna Krueger, age 104, of Stacy died on December 28, 2009 at home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 -8 P.M. on Friday, January 1st at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Frieda Anna Krueger was born in Stanford Township, Isanti County, Minnesota on March 22, 1905 to Bernard and Bertha Stoeckel. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown. She married Carl Krueger on June 24, 1931. Weber was her home until age 95 when she moved to a retirement apartment in Cambridge for six years. The last four years were spent in Stacy at the home of Vicki and Duane Bengtson.
Frieda worked in the Weber store with her husband until 1945. She then became a very active volunteer, especially in her church at St. John Lutheran where she served in a variety of capacities, including Sunday School Teacher. Frieda also taught a Bible study at the State School and Hospital. Some of the other work she did was to be on the County Welfare Board, Cancer Society, Red Cross, Blood Mobile and a 4-H leader. She assisted the county nurse and was on the first Ways and Means Committee at the Cambridge Hospital as well as volunteered at the gift shop there.
Frieda Anna Krueger died on December 28, 2009 at her home at the age of 104 years, 9 months and 6 days. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carl Krueger; daughter, Donalyn Buelow; grandson, David Buelow; 12 siblings, Dora, Albert, Fred, Louise, Art, Lilly, Alice, Walt, Clarence, Margaret, Lawrence and Ralph.
Frieda is survived by her daughter, Jane Krueger of Seattle, WA; sister, Theresia Whittlef of Crown; four grandchildren, Debra (Gary) Wilkerson, Michael (Marilyn) Buelow, Kathryn (Rick) Oestricher, Keith (Diane) Buelow; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Buelow, Ricky and Joshua Oestricher; many other relatives and friends.
