Ray was born in Bemidji, Minn. on July 28, 1938 to John and Clara (Schummer) Duff. He was united in marriage to Janice (Haag) Duff. They moved to Isanti in 1971 and had many great friends. Ray retired early and what started as a snowbird, eventually moved to a year round life in Mesa, Ariz. He lived in Desert Sands on a golf course and golfed regularly. He even had two holes in one. Besides golf he enjoyed little projects, playing cards and was always looking for a good laugh. Ray will be remembered most for his great sense of humor.
Raymond L. Duff passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2010 at home at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 25 days.
He is survived by his son Tony (Kellie) Duff of Anoka, daughter Cindy (Steve) Schroeder of Cambridge; two brothers, Duane (Bonnie) Duff of Bemidji, Merle (Sandy) Duff of Eagan; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Clara Duff, wife Janice of twenty eight years, and children Gordon, Vicki, and Danny Duff. Ray was extremely precious, loving, and fun as a dad, friend, and grandpa. He will be sorely missed. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:8. We Love you Dad and Grandpa.
Ray was such a blessing to so many of us! We will miss his great sense of humor, his joy of people and his tender heart towards his family. With many wonderful years to reflect on, we look at the blessings of having Ray at our home for meals these past few years with our extended family members. We are also reminded about how many people talked about Ray’s positive impact on their life during our political campaigns. Despite our loss of a great person here on earth, we know heaven celebrates his entry into God’s kingdom for eternity.
With Love, Alan & Louise Duff
