Deanna Mettling, age 58,of Cambridge died May 20, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East after a long eight year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Brenda Wicklund officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Deanna Jean Mettling was born July 15, 1951 in Braham, Minnesota to Bertil and Delores (Gallmeier) Broddy. She was raised in Isanti and was baptized at South Isanti Baptist Church. Deanna graduated from Cambridge High School in 1969 and then she worked at Honeywell in Minneapolis. In 1973 she married Leon Mettling and they were blessed with two children, Heather and Nathan. Deanna enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating, crafting and playing cards. She loved shopping especially for clothes, shoes, purses and chocolate. Deanna was also an animal lover.
Deanna Mettling passed away May 20, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East after a long eight year battle with cancer at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 5 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, by an infant brother, Mark, and by her beloved dog, Thumper.
Deanna will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather (Scott) Bultena of St. Michael; son, Nathan Mettling (Jenny Warner) of Zimmerman; three sisters, Janet (Paul) Bostrom of Isanti, Bonnie (Steven) Mettling of North Branch, Kathy (Dennis) Lodin of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Kayla and Aidan; best friend, Tom Pratt of Cambridge; and by many other relatives and friends.
