Lyle Lohse, age 76, of Isanti died May 4, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 8th at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Phil Gotsch officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Lyle DeWayne Lohse was born July 1, 1933 in Erdahl, Minnesota to Kurt and Laura Lohse. The family moved to the Barrett area where he was raised on the family farm. Lyle served in the Army from 1953 1955 during the Korean War. After his military discharge he came to Elbow Lake. On July 3, 1955 he married Shirley Germundson and they made their home in the Minneapolis area. In 1970 they moved to Isanti. Lyle was employed by Onans for 24 years. He then farmed full time from 1975 until 1990 when he had to retire because of health issues. Lyle was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti since 1970. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and wintering in Arizona. Lyle was a lung transplant recipient and just celebrated his 11th year anniversary on March 16, 2010.
Lyle Lohse died May 4, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 3 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Greg; four brothers, Paul, Harvey, Lloyd and Dale; three sisters, Darlene, Betty and Diane.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Shirley of Isanti; son, Wayne of Braham; daughter, Michele (Greg) Cooper of Hopkins; two grandchildren, Laura and Geoffrey Cooper of Hopkins; four brothers, Wally (Ruth) of Texas, Richard (Judy) of Elbow Lake, Roger of Forest Lake, Robert (Susi) of Elbow Lake; one sister, Bernice Olson of Crystal; and by many other relatives and friends.
