Mary Thomas, age74, of Cambridge died September 27, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Rev. Bill Steinke officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 30th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel and also 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
Mary Lou Thomas was born July 26, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Russell and Thelma Sizemore. Mary was raised in Kentucky. On November 7, 1958 she married John Thomas and they made their home in Minnesota. She worked at the Grand Casino in Hinckley and then at the Casino in Danbury, Wisconsin. She enjoyed her retirement in Danbury. Mary moved to Cambridge two years ago to live with her daughter, Thelma, and family. Mary’s greatest joy was being Grandma and Mom.
Mary is survived by 5 children, Ginette Zustiak, Gary (Cheri) Thomas, Thelma (David) Baker, Jack (Bobbi) Thomas and Ruth Stafford; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Linda Sizemore; 4 brothers, Jim Sizemore, Tommy (Alma) Sizemore, Mike (Donna) Sizemore, Merle Sizemore; and by many other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John.
