Gordon Vonkrough, age 71, of Cambridge died November 29, 2010 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo with Rev. Bill Pearson officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Gordon VonKrough was born January 30, 1939 in St. Paul and was adopted by Lawrence and Edith VonKrough. He was raised in Palisade and Remer and he graduated from Remer High School. Gordy then served in the Air Force. After the service he moved to St. Paul. Gordy married Diane Johnson on August 9, 1969 and they made their home in the Isanti area. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. Gordy was employed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1988 they moved to Cambridge and joined the Salem Lutheran Church in Dalbo. Gordy was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, trapping and camping. He also enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, playing the piano and singing.
Gordon VonKrough died November 29, 2010 at Grace Pointe Crossing West Gables at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 29 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and by one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Diane of Cambridge; two daughters, Ann (Corey) Frericks of Foley, Traci (Dan) Weihrauch of Pine City; eight grandchildren, Emily, Justin, Cody, Eric, Alec, Jake, Erica and Danny; one brother, Robert Numan of Detroit Lakes; one sister, Elaine Towner of Shoreview; and by many other relatives and friends.
