DeVonna L. Scott, age 76, of Cambridgepassedaway peacefully surrounded by her family at home onJanuary 18, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 22nd at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Chaplain Bill Steinke officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
DeVonna Lorrene Scott was born July 11, 1934 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Robert and Beatrice (Anton) Hartsook. On October 23, 1954 she married Rex Scott in Adrian, Minnesota. They made their home and raised their family in Sioux Falls and later in Owatonna. They have lived in Cambridge since 2002. DeVonna loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family was of great importance. She loved fishing and one of her favorite fishing experiences was catching a brown trout in North Dakota, and rubbing in her catch to her husband with pride. They had many special fishing memories on Sugar Lake near Grand Rapids, Minnesota and she will be dearly missed.
DeVonna Scott passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on January 18, 2011 at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Hartsook, and by an infant daughter, Toni Lee.
DeVonna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Rex; son, Rex II. (Barbara) of Westminster, California; two daughters, Penny (Timothy) Gillen of Andover, Nikki (Travis) Dowell of Cambridge; brother, Richard (Yvonne) Hartsook of Owatonna; 13 grandchildren, Gabriel (Lena), Melissa (Andrew), Stacey (Brian), Eric Lee (Tammy), Peter, Philip, Michael, Erin, Christopher, Kiersten, Rebekah, Derek and Kalvyn; five great-grandchildren, Alaina, Preston, Riley, Juliana and Kaylee; and by other relatives and friends.
