Edna Erickson, age 101, of Isanti died April 5, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 9th at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Pastor Ryan O’Leary officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Edna was born October 22, 1909 in Harris to Carl and Eleanora Olson. She was baptized by Rev. Harvey Swanberg in 1956 at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti. She worked at home and in Minneapolis as a young person doing housework. She was united in marriage to Wilford Erickson on June 24, 1933. They lived in Cambridge until 1942. In August 1943 they moved to Oxlip to manage the Co-op Store. Then in 1949 they moved to Isanti to manage the Isanti Co-op Store, which they purchased in February of 1959. They both enjoyed working in the store together for many years and making many friends. They sold the store and retired in 1972. They moved to Parkview Apartments in 1976. Edna was able to live there until she was 95 years old and then moved to Grandview Christian Home.
Edna was an active member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti. She enjoyed reading, praying, writing letters and cards. She was an avid bowler and also played tennis until her later years.
Edna Erickson passed away April 5, 2011 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 13 days. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilford; infant son, Richard; two sisters; Adlie Wistrom and Anna Hartfiel, and one nephew; Duane Wistrom.
She is survived by three nieces and three nephews; Marolyn Holland (Francis) of Askov, Linda Lindahl (David) of Princeton, Janice Ziebarth (Donald) of Cambridge, Darrel Wistrom (Teri) of Cambridge, Kenneth Hartfiel of Zimmerman and Gary Hartfiel of Isanti. Edna also had many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

We will miss Edna very much. She was mom’s roommate for many years and had such a sweet spirit and gentleness about her all the time. We loved having her at all our family functions. She was one of our family! Our love & prayers to you, her family, as you say “goodbye for now” to your sweet Edna. We’ll see her again.
