Linda Olson says
Ruby would brighten my day every morning when I went to work. I would come at 6:00 in the morning and she would be sitting in the day room waiting to start her day and see what adventure it was going to be leading her on. She would always have a smile on her face and say Good Morning to every one that passed her way. As new residents came in she was always sure to introduce her self and to give them a home town welcome. She was kind to every one.
I will miss having coffee with her at 2:00 and her telling her life stories. She always kept me laughing with her witty ways. I remember after the volunteer supper of 2010 there wasn’t room on the bus for Ruby to go home so I waited with her in the parking lot,it was starting to get dark, the sun was setting and it was the most beautiful sunset. We sat there and watched the sun go completely down and she said “This is what life is all about.” I will always remember that as I watch the sunset.
I will truly miss your Mom and Grandma very much.
Kim Carlson Hanson says
Ruby was a wonderful friend to my mother Barb Carlson (she passed away in 1988). I have always been grateful to Ruby for the kindness she showed my mother and how she helped my mother as she struggled through her battle with cancer.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
