Weaver, Vernal T., born July 1, 1938, passed away at 3:10 AM on May 13, 2011 at Villa Health Care Center in Mora, Minnesota, following a brief but valiant fight with cancer.
Vern served his country as a diesel mechanic for the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1961. He retired after 27 years from KONE (Montgomery Elevator) where he served as service manager in the Minneapolis, Washington DC and Des Moines branches. On November 5, 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty; they celebrated 50 years last fall. They have four children; Angela (Mike) Parker, David (Michelle) Weaver, James (Renee) Weaver and Charles (Tara) Weaver. Vern also left behind 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary (Susan) Weaver; sister Diane Becht; brother, Steve (Jenny) Norlin-Weaver; father, Vern Norlin-Weaver; and many other friends and relatives. Vern was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Lenox and mother, Vivian Granger. For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave the earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2 Cor. 5:1.

Betty and family,
My deepest sympathies to you all. I was saddened to hear of Vern’s passing. I have wonderful memories of all of us at your house in Elk River. Judy and Vern discussing horses.. Tennesee Walkers or Morgans???? All of our 4-H adventures, fairs and parades! I was just recently thinking about all of you wondering how you have been, little did I know. Again my heartfelt sympathy. I wish I could have been there for you the day of Vern’s service, but please know you are in my heart, thoughts and prayers
Love Maria Srnsky
