Arnold D. Longley, age 74, of Isanti died August 30, 2011 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 2nd at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
Arnold Dean Longley was born September 23, 1936 in Minneapolis to Rutherford and Bernice (Holter) Longley. He was raised in Minnetonka. Arnold married Carol Gross on April 19, 1958 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina. They made their first home in Hopkins and lived in the Twin Cities area until moving to Isanti in 1972. Arnold was a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local Union 49. He had varied interests; cars, airplanes, model airplanes, tractors and his back hoe. Arnold was a “tinker” working with mechanical things and would always be inventing something.
Arnold Longley died August 30, 2011 at his home at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 7 days. His wife, Carol, preceded him in death on April 9, 2001.
Arnold is survived by 10 children, Steven (Michelle) Longley of North Branch, Thomas Longley of Blaine, Douglas (Melissa) Longley of Cambridge, David Longley of Isanti, Christine Longley of Cambridge, Barbara (James) McCain of Webster, Wisconsin, Matthew (Julie) Longley of Mesa, Arizona, Mark Longley of Cambridge, Patrick (Sherry) Longley of Cambridge, Joani (Tom) Leight of Hinckley; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and by many other relatives and friends.

Even though I cannot make the trip from Arizona to be there in person, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the rest of the family and friends of Arnie for their loss. He will be missed. I will remember him best as a great story teller. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
