Douglas Atkins, age 78, of East Bethel died August 29, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 2nd at West Bethel United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1st at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Douglas Neil Atkins was born August 27, 1933 at the family home in Dyers Corner, rural Bethel, to Neil and Pearl (Pettygrove) Atkins.
Douglas Atkins passed away peacefully on August 29, 2011 at his home at the age of 78 years and 2 days.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Marlene; son, Kevin (Kelly) Atkins of Harris; three daughters, Karen (Randy) Olson of Oak Grove, Kayla (Steve) Rokosz of McDonough, Georgia, Kandi (Jacob) Chavie of St. Francis; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Lilah) Atkins, Richard (Karen) Atkins; one sister, Carol (Ed) Egan; and by many other relatives and friends.
