Lynn Marie Hanson-Armstrong, age 41, of Phoenix, Arizona and formerly of Ramsey and Isanti, died in Phoenix as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 28th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Howard Skulstad officiating. A time for visiting will be held from 3:00 PM until the service at 5:00 PM Sunday. Interment will be in St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery near Rochester.
Lynn Marie Hanson was born on June 19th, 1970, in Rochester, MN to John and Sandy Armstrong. She grew up in Isanti County and attended St. Francis Sr. High School. Lynn was a very intelligent woman who was always reading more than one book at a time. She loved a good romance novel, or anything Stephen King. She moved around with her first husband Michael until they had their first and only daughter, Katie-Ann Marie Grassini, on October 27th, 1987 at Mercy in Coon Rapids. Katie and her were more like sisters most of the time, and were always there for one another. Lynn and Michael divorced and she remarried Shane Hanson and settled in Ramsey, MN for many years after. She had an incredible garden filled with perfect peonies, her favorite flower, and she absolutely loved planting, gardening, and decorating. She was an active member of several churches in her day, and was also baptized Lutheran. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and could cook and bake a phenomenal plate. Once Shane and Lynn were separated she was engaged to Steve Esslinger and moved to East Bethel. Soon after, she moved to Surprise, AZ and the two of them resided there ever since. She was an active member of the women’s auxiliary in Sun City, and made many new friends. Lynn was never alone, she could make new friends so quickly with her bubbly personality. She was a beautiful ray of light in any room she was in and was a social butterfly to the extreme. She also enjoyed scrap booking so much she should be labeled a “scrap-a-holic”. She had an entire room dedicated to scrap booking all her wonderful memories, and of course everything was pink, her favorite color. She was very creative and unique.
Lynn is survived by her daughter Katie (Josh) Grassini of Ramsey, her mother Sandra Armstrong of Isanti, her brother John (Amy) Armstrong and their son Johnny Armstrong of Mora, her former husband Shane Hanson of Ramsey, her former husband Michael Grassini of East Bethel, and her fiancé Steve Esslinger of Surprise, AZ; and by many other close relatives, friends, and pets.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father, John William Armstrong.
Lynn Hanson died Saturday, August 20th, 2011 in automobile accident in the Phoenix area at the age of 41 years, 2 months, and 1 day. May the light of her smile and the warmth of her memory be blessed forever and ever.

I know in my heart that God has his reasons for needing some of us much sooner than others. I know that you have found a peace beyond what we can comprehend, and that you were greeted with open arms by your Lord and your dad. But I can’t understand why you had to leave us so soon. Though your life here was entirely too short, it was indeed a life well spent. Godspeed, sis, til we meet again.

Sweet Katie,
I am thinking of you….You were blessed with a beautiful, young, vibrant mother who will always live on in your heart. Whenever you need her, she will be there… watching over and protecting you as she always has. I pray that you will come to know the love and peace that she now has and that you will feel her walking beside you always.
Love you,
Janene
