Richard Braun, age 65, of Stanchfield died August 22, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 27th at Cambridge Lutheran Church with Rev. David Everett officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Richard Earl Braun was born September 28, 1945 in Braham, Minnesota to Rudy and Eleanor (Person) Braun. He was raised in Cambridge, attended Cambridge schools and graduated in 1963. He was united in marriage to Diane Ahlstrom in 1968 and twin daughters, Dana and Denise, were born to this union.
He worked for Tower Systems and traveled world wide to such places as Nigeria and Costa Rica and eventually retired. Richard was also employed with the DNR as a fire fighter and worked with his friend Kerry as a logger. Most recently he worked as a courier for Allina, retiring after 19 years of service.
In 1982 Richard married Rose Mary Marshall and they were married until his passing.
Richard loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his buddies Joe and Rob Marshall. He loved spending time with his daughters, granddaughters and his extended family. He was a good friend to many. He also loved to ride his Harley and was a member of the Legion Riders and Patriot Guard. Richard was also a member of the Cambridge American Legion and of Cambridge Lutheran Church. He was devoted to his beloved Rosie and called her his “Angel” as she cared for him during his illness.
Richard Braun passed away August 22, 2011 at home after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant sister.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rosie; two daughters, Dana Braun of Deltona, Florida, Denise Marie (Duane) Pleines of Deland, Florida; one sister, Ramona (Paul) Torell of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, April and Danielle; and many loving family members and friends.

We met Dick several years ago when he and friends came to the Mora Shotgun Range to shoot Skeet.
We spent many evenings at the range, getting to know Dick.
We are sorry to hear of your loss, but know that God has a plan for each of us.
