Elia J. Nelson, age 68, of Cedar died September 26, 2011 at Unity Hospital in Fridley. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, OCTOBER 8th at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1415 Sixth Avenue South, Anoka. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elia was born November 24, 1942 in Pula, Yugoslavia to Maria Ostman Jakovcic. She grew up in Silver Bay, Minnesota and graduated from Silver Bay High School. On September 5, 1967 Elia married Allen Roger Nelson in Watertown, South Dakota. She was proud of raising her five boys. Elia also loved traveling, especially to Mexico.
Elia is survived by her loving husband, Allen; five sons, Michael (Melissa) of Rogers, Mark (Vickie) of Nashwauk, Allen (Jessica) of Rochester, Chad (Evonne) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Christopher (Kim) of Nashwuak; mother, Maria Ostman of Finland; by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends.
