Curtis Stone, age 88, of St. Francis, died October 23, 2011at home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, October 26, at Sunnyside Free Lutheran Church, 6623 – 227th Ave NE, Stacy, with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation also 5-8 PM Tuesday AT THE CHURCH.
Curtis Gotfred Stone was born May 5, 1923 in Isanti to Gotfred and Hedvig (Anderson) Stone. He was raised in rural Isanti and attended St. Francis High School. After high school Curt first worked at the Bethel Feed Mill. On August 24, 1946 he married Violet Broadbent and they made their first home in Bethel and later moved to their current home in rural St. Francis. Curt worked for Archer-Daniels for several years and then worked at Federal Cartridge for over 30 years before retiring in 1983. After retirement he spent his time hunting, fishing, working in the shop and garden, and feeding the birds and deer. Curt was a hardworking man who had a good sense of humor and a jolly disposition. He was kind, caring and dedicated to his church and the East Bethel Senior Center. Curt will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Curtis G. Stone passed away at his home on October 23, 2011 at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 15 days.
Curt is survived by his wife, Violet of St. Francis; 3 children, Toni (John) Peterson of Cedar, Vicki (Bruce) Lamprecht of Marshall, Kevin (Zoe) Stone of East Bethel; 3 grandsons, Graydon (Sarah Minette) Peterson of Minneapolis, Drew Peterson and Holly Ramacher of Zimmerman, Blake Peterson of Duluth; 2 great-granddaughters; and by many other relatives and friends.
