Denise Wood, age 57, of Cambridge died November 11, 2011 at Unity Hosptial in Fridley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 14th at Elim Baptist Church in Isanti with Pastor Ryan O’Leary officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, November 13th at Strike Funeral Home – ISANTI Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Denise Kay Wood was born May 23, 1954 in Minneapolis to Milton and Alice (Carlson) Land. She was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School, Class of 1972. On February 6, 1982 she married Larry Wood. They made their first home in Isanti and then moved to Cambridge in 1987. Denise was employed at the Cambridge Medical Center. She was an active member of Elim Baptist Church in Isanti and had been a member of several Bible studies. She had a deep faith and was a devoted Christian. Denise especially loved and cared for her family, grandchildren and many friends. She was a hard worker, enjoyed gardening and was also an avid reader.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Steve; nephew, Bobby; and father-in-law, Donald Wood. Denise is survived by her husband, Larry of Cambridge; 4 daughters, Danielle (John) Sinclair of Cornelius, North Carolina, Jennifer Bushinski of Cornelius, North Carolina, Kristen (Nick) Gabrielson of Nisswa, Katherine Wood and Trig Laase of Cambridge; 6 grandchildren, Keenan, Grant, Noelle, Brogan, Anka, Rhys; 7 brothers and sisters, Margaret (Bill) Ellis of Jenkins, Don (Meg) Land of Camarillo, California, Sandy (Ted) Summers of Isanti, Cindy (Kory) Boster of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Vicki (Joel) Boman of Magnolia, Texas, Greg (Donna) Land of Forest Lake, Gary (Gayle) Land of Cambridge; sister-in-law, Becky Land of Coon Rapids; mother-in-law, Edna Soph Wood of Cambridge; and by many other relatives and friends.

How sorry I am for your loss of Mother, Sister and wife. I bowled with Denise and Sandy many years ago.. we even had babies at the same time. Three of us pregnant on the same team must have been interesting to watch! I will remember Denise for her warm smile and gift of laughter..she will be missed by many as she touched many lives. May God give you much comfort.
