Stuart Allen Sigurdson was born in Balaton, Minnesota on May 22, 1937 to Otto and Anna Sigurdson. He graduated from Balaton High School in 1955. He was a patriotic man who served in the US Army. On April 28, 1962 he married Renja Pawlutz and they made their home in Maple Grove. In 1973 they moved to rural North Branch in the Weber Community. Stuart worked most of his career as a diesel mechanic and farmer, but farming was his true passion.
Stuart’s faith in God was strong and he lived that faith each day. He served in many roles at the various churches that he attended over the years, but singing tenor in the choir was probably his favorite.
Stuart was a man who was easy to love. His family and many friends will remember him as someone who gave terrific hugs’. He had a quick smile, a gentle laugh and a twinkle in his eye that was infectious. His greatest joy in his final years was his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He will be missed by many.
Stuart Sigurdson died at his home on November 21, 2011 at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 29 days. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Anna Sigurdson; four brothers, Eldon, Jay Otto, Chester and Lawrence; three sisters, Fern Krueger, Laura Brue and Arlene Anderson.
Stuart is survived by his wife Renja Sigurdson of North Branch; his children Roland (Stacey) Sigurdson of Inver Grove Heights, Troy (Sheila) Sigurdson of Buffalo, Chris (Kristen) Sigurdson of Sartell and Tanja (Bryan) Stading of Lake Crystal; 11 grandchildren; brothers Leonard (Silvia) Sigurdson of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dennis (Barb) Sigurdson of Slayton; and sister Elaine Zacrep of Blaine.
