Sarah Peterson, age 82, of Stacy died March 12, 2012 at the Margaret S. Parmly Residence in Chisago City. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 15th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Chaplin Dawn Sandberg officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior.
Sarah Florence Peterson was born December 19, 1929 in New York City to John and Florence (Niegerhall) Morelli. She was raised, attended school and lived her early years in New York. Sarah married Richard Peterson on March 17, 1950. Since 1953 they made their home in Anoka and Isanti Counties. Sarah enjoyed fishing, reading, doing puzzles and handwork and she loved roller coasters, especially at Coney Island.
Sarah F. Peterson died March 12, 2012 at The Margaret S. Parmly Residence in Chisago City at the age of 82 years 2 months and 22 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1987; son, Wayne; granddaughter, Rochelle; and by one brother and one sister.
Sarah is survived by 3 children, Linda (Bill) Hernandez of Princeton, Texas, Nancy (Bill) Anderson of Stacy, Scott (Dora) Peterson of Forest Lake; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, John (Doris) Morell of Commack, New York; and by many other relatives and friends.
Aunt Sally you will be missed. The past few years have not been very kind to you and now you are free.
I miss seeing Sarah at Margaret’s House, when I go to visit my husband’s great aunt, but am so happy for her that the memory battle is over.
Margaret’s House lost another long time resident this past week, when Joanne Peterson passed away.
