In Memory of Berny Beck

Bernadine “Berny” Mary (Pipp, Sward) Beck, age 68, of Isanti died May 22, 2012 at home. A memorial servicewill be held at 12:00 NOON on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti with Rev. Clifton Hanson officiating. Friends may gather 1 hour prior to the service at church.

Berny was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Swedish Hospital on January 4, 1944 to August Pipp and Doris (Lowe) Pipp. She grew up in North and South Minneapolis and attended St. Phillip’s Catholic School, Jordan Junior High and Vocational School.

Once her children were in school full time she helped to found C.R.O.S.S. (Christians Reaching out to Social Services), where she served as coordinator until she moved to Isanti in 1975. She worked at Coopers Corner Store, Hinckley Casino, helped set up Walmart in Cambridge, Murphy’s USA in Cambridge and recently she was the Deli Manager at Isanti Mobil. Berny enjoyed her children, grandchildren, cooking andgreeting her morning customers with sunshine.

Berny passed over to be with God on May 22, 2012 at home at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 18 days.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Beck, step-father, Willard Swedock; brothers, Tom and Bob Pipp; step-son, Jerry Beck; son-in-law, Russ Carlson and granddaughter, Katrina.

She will lovingly remembered by her daughters, Theresa Carlson, Brenda (Sam)Beuschel; granddaughter, Tressa Carlson; sisters, Sharon (Pipp) Norman, JoAnn Swedock; brothers, Bob Swedock, Roger Pipp; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and all of her friends.
