James Almer, Jr, age 48, of Cambridge died July 30, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at our Cambridge Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service on Thursday.
James Fredrick Almer, Jr. was born April 7, 1964 in St. Paul to Shirley and James Almer, Sr. The family moved to California where he was raised and would live several years. He came back to Minnesota in 1985. Jim married Elizabeth Wilson on February 3, 2003 and they made their home in Cambridge. He was a member of Pipefittters Local Union 539. Jim was an excellent cook and enjoyed grilling and he also enjoyed the boat and fishing.
James Almer, Jr. died July 30, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 48 years, 3 months and 13 days. He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan; father, James, Sr; and brother, Todd.
James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wilson of Cambridge; step-daughter, Theresa Wilson of Cambridge; mother, Shirley Almer of Coon Rapids; sister, Terri (Marv) Johnson of Elk River; mother and father-in-law, Elwood and Lucille Steele of Isanti; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Pam Steele of Isanti, Peter and Karla Steele of Plum City, Wisconsin; and by many other relatives and friends.
