Barbara was such a part of our family that she could have been born into it. Barb was a lovely and caring lady that I never saw get angry at anyone. Such a positive outlook on life.

I was so sorry to hear about Barb! Please know you’re all in my prayers. Sherrill, you and Barb were great neighbors and I missed you both when I moved! God must have wanted more flowers in heaven and that is why He took her to live with Him. I am just a couple streets over if you ever need anything.

Thank you friends and family for your thoughts/paryers/and words of encouragement. I know my mom is at peace. She would have been in awe of all of the words of love and tears shed on her behalf. Her family loved her dearly and cherished the years that she was given to us in spite of her many ailments that adventually took her way too soon. My dad has been a testemony of until death do us part, although I know that even death will not seperate the two of them as she will always be on his mind and in his heart. He has often shared that my mom was that beautiful girl with the beautiful smile. I know he will appreciate all of our support and love in the months ahead. We hope to fellowship with you in memory and honor of her this Thursday or in the days that follow.

Thank you all for your kind words of my mom. She was a great lady and always cared more for everyone over herself. she will be missed dearly. i know she would want us all to take good care of each other at this time. She would especially want us to pray for my dad, in his deepest sorrow, that god will hold him close through this tough time. God bless you and know you have an extra angel in heaven watching over you now.

My memories of Aunt Barb are many and all wonderful! She always had time for me, and treated me like I was the only person in the world. I used to ride the minibike from my house in Goldenwood, to her house in Isanti. We loved to do crafts together, and making candles is one of my fondest memories. She also shared my love of scary movies, and we spent many a Tuesday night at the $5 special! I’ve never met someone with such a beautiful light around her, she just glowed with love! She always had a smile on her face. You couldn’t help but also smile. And she found everything funny, so she was the BEST person to tell jokes to! I think her ability to laugh and enjoy life so much, is one of the reasons she lived as long as she did, with all her health problems. I pray that my Uncle Sherrill will find some peace, knowing his twin sister was there at the gates of heaven, waiting with open arms for his wife to join her. Aunt Suzy will take good care of her for you!! May the family find strength from the love of those of us left behind, those that knew how very special Aunt Barb was. She was truly one of a kind and I will miss her more than words can say!

Dear Tammi, Dan, Kyle and Jacob:
We are so very sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting your mom, Tammi, from what the others have posted, she was a lovely lady. You were all blessed to have her in your lives. Remember all the good and happy times you had with her and may that ease the sorrow of your loss. We are thinking of you! Ron and Chris

I was so lucky to get to know Barb as I helped care for her at Dialysis. She was truly the sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She loved to talk and told great stories. She was always polite and caring about all others around her. Most of all she had a great love for her family and loved to talk about them. It was very clear how much her family loved her as well. She will be greatly missed by all of us who had the pleasure to know her. My heart goes out to her family, especially Sherrill, at this time of great loss.

Barb was a very special person to me and left a lasting and loving space in my heart that never will be filled. We became very much like sisters and family as we shared the good and the bad times times together. She raised my boys along with her girls and always treated them the same. If it were not for Barb I don’t think I would be around today, as she took very good care of me when my Lupus flared up. She was an angle in disguise. I will always love her. She also took wonderful care of my grandchildred (two generations of Horgens) What a lady. Patty Marzolf

I just heard the news, I wish I would have known sooner so I could have been there today to honor this amazing women. Not only was she a great second mother to me when Cheryl and I pushed her limits as teenagers, but also the best daycare provider anyone could ask for to 2 of my children (and I know that was no easy task). Sherrill – you and Barb shared a special kind of love – one that will live on for many more years to come even though she is not by your side. Cheryl, Lori and Tammi – your mom was one of a kind. You all were very lucky to be so close to your mother and able to share so much with her. Please know my prayers are with you all today and for the hard days to come, but know she is looking down on you with a smile, her body and mind is now at peace.
Lori Powell/Olson says
Thank you everyone for you kind and loving thoughts and prayers. Mom’s phone calls and her questioning daily how is everyone and what are we up to will be so deeply missed…she especially wanted to know about her grandkids and their doings..I know she has been made whole and complete again by our Savior Jesus and she would be so proud of Dad’s strength as my sisters and I are grieving with him at this time. If I can say anything to all of you other than thank you..please give your mom a call today and visit with her and tell her you love her.

Thank you to Brian and Strike Funeral Home for their professional and thourough overseeing of our families special day in honor of Barbara. You thought of everything and relieved a great deal of stress and anxiety about the details from our minds. You were brought up many times by family and friends these past few days in recognition of the wonderful service you provided.
