In Memory of Iris Stone

Iris Stone, age 85, of Cambridge died September 19, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 22nd at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cambridge with Father James David Hahn as Celebrant. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Iris Mae Stone was born May 17, 1927 in Austin, Minnesota, to Opal and Joseph Harry Lathrop. She was raised in Austin and graduated as salutatorian of Austin Pacelli High School. Iris married Kenneth Stone on August 30, 1947 and they made their home in Bethel. Iris lived in Bethel until moving to the nursing home in October of 2005. She had been a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oak Grove and Christ the King Catholic Church Cambridge. Iris enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and canning her produce. Iris enjoyed the nursing home and was involved in all of their activities. She was an inspiration to many.

Iris died September 19, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 2 days.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2005; son, Dennis; daughter, Darla; great-granddaughter, Victoria; son-in-laws, Jack Smith and Dan Kriz.

Iris is survived by 4 children, Diane (Tom) Grisé of Cedar, Doreen Smith and John Lovelette of Cedar, Danita Kriz and Larry Ptacek of Walker, Derrick Stone of Bethel; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Spencer Lathrop of Iowa; 1 sister, Patricia Jones of California; and by many other relatives and friends.
