Morris M. Johnson, age 89, of Isanti, formerly of Dalbo, died January 8, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 12th at Springvale Baptist Church in Stanchfield with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Dalbo Baptist Cemetery.
Morris Myles Johnson was born July 6, 1923 in Dalbo, MN to Charles and Lillian Johnson. On June 18, 1948 he was united in marriage to Arlene M. Swanson at the Oxlip Free Church. He grew up in Dalbo, and attended the Dalbo country school for 8 years, graduating from the Cambridge High School in 1941. After high school Morris worked for 2 years in Minneapolis before purchasing property in Dalbo near the family farm. He farmed in Dalbo and worked for the US Postal Service as rural carrier and Postmaster in Dalbo for 30+ years. He was a member of the Springvale Baptist Church in rural Stanchfield, MN.
Morris and Arlene enjoyed traveling, taking many trips throughout the world and visiting 49 different states. In retirement Morris moved to River Hills in Cambridge, MN. He more recently lived in Isanti, MN.
Morris died at home on January 8, 2013 at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, his parents, and brothers, Iver and Roger as well as sisters Violet Rodriguez, Hazel Olson, Goldie Olson.
Morris is survived by his sisters, Gloria Nupson and Susan Brown. He is also survived by his children, Clark (Cathy) Johnson of Isanti, Nancy (Dan) Nelson of Hugo, Randy Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO, Marcia (Rick) Kruger of Brooklyn Park, and Robin (Bill) Hull of Bloomington; grandchildren, Matt, Melody and Melissa Johnson, Jessica (Brian) Moore, Karl (Anna Battcher) Nelson, Julie (Chris) Lilley, Steve, Bob and Michelle Kruger, Brian, Katie and Alex Hull, and great-granddaughter, Elia Johnson.
