Lucille E. Steele, age 73, of Isanti died February 13, 2013 at Abbott – Northwestern Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 16th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Jean Rollin officiating. A vistation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Lucille Esther Steele was born January 5, 1940 in Henning, Minnesota to Bernard and Marie (Frederick) Brau. She was raised in Barrett, Minnesota and graduated from Barrett High School. Lucy married Elwood Steel on September 1, 1961 and they made their first home in Minneapolis. In 1970 they moved to Isanti where they have since made their home. Lucy was a member of Common Ground United Methodist Community in Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Corners Square Dancing group. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, shopping and going to garage sales.
Lucille Steele died February 13, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy Peters; brother-in-law, Glen Peters; sister-in-law, Barb Brau; and son-in-law, Jim Almer.
She is survived by her husband, Elwood of Isanti; 3 children, Mark (Pamela) Steele of Isanti, Peter (Karla) Steele of Plum City, Wisconsin, Elizabeth Almer of Cambridge; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill (Claudia) Brau of Edina, Maynard Brau of Bloomington; and by many other relatives and friends.
