Richard A. Fredrickson, age 62, of Cambridge died February 14, 2013 at Cambridge Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 20th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel. A time for visiting will be held 1/2 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Richard Arlan Fredrickson was born August 27, 1950 in Princeton, Minnesota to Robert and Shirley (Hovland) Fredrickson. When Richard was young his family moved to Cambridge where his parents owned and operated Chuck Wagon Café. Richard attended school in Cambridge and graduated in the class of 1968. He served his country in the US Army and completed three tours in Vietnam. After the service he lived in several areas before settling back in Cambridge 15 years ago. He worked as a custodian for Cambridge Middle School and then Cambridge-Isanti High School. Richard loved listening to music, fishing and cooking.
Richard Fredrickson passed away February 14, 2013 at Cambridge Medical Center after a short battle with cancer at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 18 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley, son, Logan, and sister-in-law, Annette.
Richard is survived by four sons, August “Gus” (Jennifer) Fredrickson, Jake Fredrickson, Kevin Fredrickson and Craig Fredrickson; one brother, Bob Fredrickson (Pat Mitchell); one sister, Roxanna (Paul) Jokela; grandchildren, Avery and Ava; and by other relatives and friends.

I became a friend of richard when we both where at the st cloud va medical center for inpatient treatment of combat ptsd. I went fishing with rich and peter jack. I have not heard from him for some time. so i called and no number, then i looked him up on obituaries and found him. Im so very sorry for your lose. We shared alot about each of our lives together.
