Robert A. Bowker, Sr., age 72, of Isanti died April 24, 2013 at home. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Monday, April 29th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.
Bob was born July 14, 1940 in St. Paul to George Bowker and Elsie Zirul of St. Paul.
Bob was an only child and graduated from St. Paul Central High School in 1958. After graduation Bob enlisted in the US Navy and served on the USS Essex until 1962. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy he attended College at St. Paul Technical College for Engineering.
Bob married Lavonne Wiezycki in 1966, and they moved to Cambridge in 1969 and together had two children, Robert Jr. and Kimberlee. Bob was employed as a supervisor at Control Data for several years, until Control Data relocated to Texas. Bob worked for several companies, in many capacities, until retiring from Gross-Given in 2003.
Bob was an avid fisherman, hunter and snowmobiler in his younger years. He loved the outdoors and passed this love onto his children. Bob spent many summers with his family at his uncle’s home in Cedar Lake, WI. Bob enjoyed playing horseshoes at the VFW in Isanti, and was a faithful participant of the rodeo and Jubilee days each year.
Bob loved spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. Bob was known for his always cheerful disposition, jokes and kind heart.
Bob is survived by his son Rob (Kim) Bowker of Cambridge, his daughter Kimberlee of Isanti. His Grandchildren; Taylor, Christian, Kayla and many other relatives and friends.

I’m so sorry for your loss!! Bob was a great guy that was always looking out for me. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone that needed help. He will be missed. I love you guys and I’m praying for you all.
