Flossie Bowen, age 96, of North Branch died May 31, 2013 at GracePointe Gables West in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 5th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Rev. Howard Skulstad officating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Strike Cemetery.
Flossie Marie Bowen was born October 28, 1916 in Pipestone to Elmer and Millie (Eccles) Quam. She was raised in various areas of the Midwest. On January 17, 1936 she married Ben Bowen in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis and then in Melrose Park near Chicago for 12 years. In the late 1960’s they moved to rural North Branch. Flossie enjoyed traveling, fishing, her toy poodles, flower gardening and working on crafts. For the past year she had been a resident of the nursing home.
Flossie died May 31, 2013 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 3 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Duane; husband Ben; 1 great-grandson, Josh; 2 brothers, Wilbert and Allan; 2 sisters, Pearl and Alice.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Eileen Bowen of North Branch; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Marie Quam of Anoka; 1 brother, Ed Quam of Cambridge; and many friends from GracePointe Crossing.

It was a Blessing and a Privilege to be a member of Aunt Flossie’s family. She taught us all by example what a powerful tool for good and happiness a “Positive Attitude” and a “Sense of Humor” can be. She will be missed…..particularly her wonderful laugh!
