Delores Slate, age 73, of West St.Paul died July 18, 2013 at her daughters home in Cambridge. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel. A time of gathering will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Delores Ethel Slate was born December 17, 1939 in Browerville, Minnesota to Ed and Mary (Pokornoski) Hedlund. She was raised in Browerville and graduated from Browerville High School. Delores married Frank Oliver Slate and they made their home in West Saint Paul. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and Cribbage.
Delores passed away at her daughters home on July 18, 2013 at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 1 day. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank; daughter, Robin; and 2 brothers and 1 sister. Delores is survived by 3 children, Frank Slate of Isanti, Allan Slate of West Saint Paul, Jessica Slate of Cambridge; 1 grandson, Frank Slate, Jr. of Isanti; and by other relatives and friends.

Just got back from the lake, I am so very sorry to hear about your dear Mother’s illness and death. She was an incredible lady who kept an immaculate yard & beautiful gardens. It was a privilege to be her neighbor the past 22 years, I will miss our chats over the fence.
You have such an awesome, strong, loving family–may the support of each other and friends help you through this difficult time. Remember the happiest times with your Mom, she was truly a special person.
